Ward Budget – Cherry Lane Summer Fete

We recently used our ward budget to support a number of communityy activities including an event at Cherry Lane School.

The following is from them:

Dear Councillor Peter Money,

I wanted to send you all some photos from our wonderful Summer fete, which yet again, proved to be a magnificent day for our pupils and their families.

The day was filled with fun and laughter and included a variety of stalls, offering unique crafts as well as three different food stalls from around the world, entertainment for children and their parents/carers as well as local dance and drama schools, performing which was a fantastic success.

Mr Whitehouse, our Headmaster, myself and Carl Nielson, have been working towards greater Community Cohesion with the diverse Ethnic mix at our school.

With the support of the ward budget grant, we were able to secure some fantastic activities for our Summer fete, which enabled our pupils, their families and those from our local community, to come together and enjoy a day of fun.

With the grant, we were able to hire four inflatable castles – £400 as well as Go Karts – £385 and with the remaining £215, we were able to replenish items such as glitter tattoos, we also bought stock for our BBQ as well as cakes and biscuits for the children to decorate.

I wish to thank you once again for your support  –  from all of us at Cherry Lane Primary School, it really does make a big difference to the type of day we can offer our children and families.

Kind Regards

Cherry Lane School
