Stop Heathrow Expansion – Stop Heathrow Expansion

Public meeting with Ray Puddifoot, Leader of Hillingdon Council and John McDonnell MP.

Harmondsworth – Wed 28 Feb, 8pm
West Drayton –  Fri 2 Mar, 7.30pm

The current Heathrow consultation has prompted residents’ groups to organise two public meetings so that those people closest to the proposed runway can ask questions about the true nature of the current proposals for a third runway and the impact to local people.

Hillingdon Council Leader Ray Puddifoot will be the guest speaker at the first meeting, which will take place at St Mary’s Church Hall in Harmondsworth on Wednesday 28th February from 8 – 9.30pm.

This meeting has been arranged by the Harmondsworth and Sipson Residents Association (HASRA) with SHE and is aimed at residents from the villages – including Longford, which would be totally destroyed if the third runway development went ahead.

John McDonnell, MP for Hayes and Harlington, will be the guest speaker at the second meeting at Yiewsley and West Drayton Community Centre on Friday 2nd March from 7.30pm – 9pm. Everyone is welcome and it’s a chance to ask questions before the Heathrow Consultation closes at the end of March.

West Drayton would feel some of the harshest impacts of a third runway, with much busier local roads, higher air pollution and not to mention the level of disruption during construction. This meeting with be a chance to discuss these impacts.
